JFD’s fire suppression operation at 1061 Allen Street has concluded. The official declaration of “fire out” will be Friday, November 18, 2022, at 5:30pm. The Fire Investigation team continues to gather evidence. The cause remains under investigation at this time. No injuries have been reported.
Jamestown Mayor Eddie Sundquist said in a statement, “I would like to thank the Jamestown Fire Department, Falconer Fire Department, Celeron Fire Department, Frewsburg Fire Department, Kiantone Fire Department, Kennedy Fire Department, Busti Fire Department, Gerry Fire Department, Fluvanna Fire Department, Sinclairville Fire Department, Ellington Fire Department, Ashville Fire Department, Panama Fire Department, Randolph Fire Department, Chautauqua County EMS, the Jamestown Police Department the Jamestown Department of Development, -NYS Office of Fire Prevention and Control, the Chautauqua County HazMat Team, the Jamestown BPU, National Fuel, Alstar Ambulance, the Salvation Army, NYS DEC, NYS DHSES, and the EPA for their heroic work in containing the fire, guiding individuals to safety, and providing critical support to the City. I would like to personally thank Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel for being at the scene of the fire. As we continue clean-up efforts, I am humbled by the support of our community and neighbors, with help coming from the local, state, and federal levels.”
