The City of Jamestown features two main parking areas: the Congested District, primarily comprising the central downtown area, and the Alternate Parking Zone, which includes most areas outside the Congested District.
Congested District:
Public parking in the Congested District includes both off-street and on-street spaces for long-term and short-term parking. An On-street Free Zone was established in the heart of the Congested District, where parking meters have been removed.
-
Off-street parking is available in surface lots and parking garages, managed through parking meters, pay stations, ticket booths, or permits. Parking permits can be arranged through Allpro Parking at (716) 484-7561.
-
On-street parking is regulated by parking meters and time-limited free parking areas. Generally, parking in the Congested District is prohibited from 2 A.M. to 7 A.M., with exceptions.
-
Free Zone spaces allow for two-hour free parking to improve short-term access while encouraging long-term parkers to use designated lots or garages.

Alternate Parking Zone:
Signs at city entrances inform drivers of the alternate parking law. Some areas within this zone have modified rules, which are posted on location. Even and odd refer to property address numbers—buildings with even numbers are on the even side of the street.
For specific rules, see the City Code section on Alternate Parking:
Parking Meters:
The Department of Public Works Traffic Division maintains and installs parking meters throughout Jamestown. The City has approximately 700 parking meters on streets and in off-street lots. Meter revenue collection and initial accounting are outsourced.
In 2009, outdated mechanical meters were replaced with digital coin-operated meters for improved efficiency.
