The City of Jamestown’s Department of Public Works oversees a range of essential services, including:
- Road maintenance, encompassing paving operations, pothole repair, snow and ice removal, street cleaning, and leaf pick-up.
Maintenance of traffic signals, signs, and traffic markings. - Engineering services, covering design, management, and construction supervision for all City projects such as street reconstruction, parks improvements, City-owned facilities, and infrastructure projects.
- Administration and supervision of Street Right-of-Way Work Permits, along with management of the City’s Sidewalk Rebate Program.
- Maintenance and updates of City maps and records, as well as specification standards.
- Site plan review and approval.
- Providing engineering assistance to the general public.
- Maintenance of City-owned buildings, grounds, and fleet management.
Additionally, the department fulfills various regulatory, planning, and service functions to serve the community effectively.
