The Jamestown Police Department Special Weapons & Tactics Team (S.W.A.T) is a dedicated group of volunteer personnel specially trained and equipped to handle prolonged life-threatening situations. This includes scenarios such as barricaded gunman incidents, hostage situations, anti-sniper incidents, drug interdictions, high-risk warrant service, and providing security for visiting dignitaries. The team utilizes specialized weapons, supplemental safety equipment, and other specialized devices to effectively manage these challenging situations.
