The Jamestown Police Department Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) consists of six specially trained and equipped members tasked with managing crisis situations, including hostage incidents and barricaded subjects. The primary objective of the team is to peacefully resolve crises through skilled negotiation, thereby reducing the risk of injury to both civilians and officers.
All CNT members have undergone training at the F.B.I. School for Crisis Negotiations. The team engages in monthly training sessions, including joint exercises with the Special Weapons and Tactics team (S.W.A.T.), to maintain and sharpen their negotiation skills for potential situations.
