The Jamestown Police Department Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) is made up of six specially trained and equipped members who handle crisis situations, including hostage incidents and barricaded subjects. The primary goal of the team is to peacefully resolve crises through skilled negotiation, minimizing the risk of injury to civilians and officers.
All CNT members have received training at the F.B.I. School for Crisis Negotiations. The team participates in monthly training sessions, including joint exercises with the Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.) team, to ensure their negotiation skills are sharp and ready for potential situations.
