The Jamestown Urban Renewal Agency (JURA) is an independent corporate governmental unit established on June 21, 1966 by the New York State Legislature.

Mission Statement:
JURA is a multi-faceted organization that performs a series of legally-mandated functions on behalf of the City of Jamestown through an annual ‘Contract for Services’ which include, but are by no means limited to, Planning; Zoning; Code Enforcement (Residential & Commercial); Administration of Federal, State & Philanthropic Grants; Processing Grant Applications for City Endeavors; Coordination of Neighborhood & Housing Rehabilitation Initiatives; Marketing of Commercial & Residential Properties; and Administration of the City’s Revolving Loan Program.
