The long-awaited skatepark located at 117 Fairmount Avenue will celebrate its grand
opening on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 12noon-2pm. This is a free event open to all. Moving from concept to reality is thanks to funding from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation and The Skatepark Project in partnership with Built to Play, Kaboom, and the City, as well as invaluable collaboration with the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation and SK8 JTNY. The outcome is world-class design from Seattle-based Grindline, resulting in the 10,000 square foot JTNY Power House Skatepark that delivers a welcome amenity to locals and desirable destination for visitors. Named in appreciation for the site of the City’s trolley system power station, the skatepark will continue in bringing movement, motion, and energy to the space. Food trucks Off The Stick, and Foodies Sweet-N-Eats will be operating during the event.
