With the passage of a new budget amendment, Jamestown City Parks will reopen officially on April 16th, 2021 with adequate staffing so that restrooms, certain activities, events, and sports can take place over the spring, summer, and fall. This includes Russell E. Diethrick Jr. Stadium.
Jamestown has named a new Parks Manager, Dan Stone, to the position after the retirement of John Williams. Previously, Stone was Working Crew Chief in the department.
Jamestown DPW Director Jeff Lehman said of the appointment, “I want to publicly thank John Williams for his years of service and dedication to the Parks Program. While he will be missed, I am excited to announce that Dan Stone has become our new Parks Manager. Dan has years of experience working in our department, and I cannot think of a more capable individual to entrust our wonderful park system with.”
